Water/Sewer & Wainfleet Wind Energy Project Update
For those that haven't heard the good news yet, the proposed water/sewer project is no longer an issue or threat to Lakeshore residents!!  Our council passed (unanimously) a by-law to repeal the original by-law supporting the project as well as directing staff to move forward with a Find, Replace, Repair strategy to correct any problems along the Lakeshore as requested by the affected residents.  So what does this mean?  It means you win...you will have to test & correct any problems that you might have with your system.  The Township has started to create a plan for implementing this new project/system, so be prepared for testing to start at the earliest late summer to early fall.  DOING NOTHING IS NOT AN OPTION, nor is it what we fought so hard for!!

Next major project to come to Wainfleet is the "Wainfleet Wind Energy Project", which is 5 industrial wind turbines (to start) that are proposed to be erected south of Hwy #3.  Windmills will change the look of Wainfleet forever be that good or bad, all residents of Wainfleet need to become informed about windmills BEFORE they are in your backyard.  Check out the following links for information on windmills.  The Township will be hearing from residents on February 23rd at 7pm in Town Hall regarding your thoughts on landscaping, emergency management procedures, municipal land uses and building permit requirements for turbines.
